I was at 1 day of the Clearwater Invitational and I think there were something like 14 home runs in the 3 games I watched. All but 2 of them were crushed and would have been out if the fences were 220ft - some of them were def over 250ft. It's crazy to me that many colleges play on field with the same dimensions as some 12u teams.
They should move back college fences

Lots of stadiums are stuck with the dimensions they have. Adjust the bats like college baseball did.

Tech is 220 in Center. That is pretty standard set-up for colleges. UGA has the same field dimensions. 190 to corners, 220 to CF.
Yeah, but you can imagine an 11 year old girl seeing that big college teams have it shorter than they do and being pretty confused by it.
There was a similar thread last summer, and a lot of examples of 190' fields were given. Many of them landlocked by other buildings, train tracks, etc. Northwestern is 190 to left, about 195 to the basketball arena.

My HS field is 220'. Any college under that distance should put up a high wall. I understand field restrictions based on availability of land, but a tall fence should not be an issue.
I asked my 13 year old DD to check out the Vanderbilt program, as it's a good school near where we live.
They don't have a softball team.
. Reason cited is there's nowhere to build a field.
Instead of changing the field dimensions how about doing what baseball did with the bats. I know there are limits on them now but tightening them up further would solve the problem.

My question would be is hitting home runs bad for the game? Are the bases being so close together also bad for the game and also need moved back?
