You must be a cynic. Because it is perfectly reasonable to assume pitchers struggling for innings on a B level local team are actually much better than those doing quite well against A level teams across the region......

How did it go? I didn't even know about the tryout until after, but some of DD teammates did and made it.

Was strange though because probably the two top 12u pitchers from here both made it to second tryout but didn't make the team. Then several other much weaker pitchers/players did make the team. So no clue what selections were based on.

We won a game and also won the stadium exhibition. That was above my expectations.

My DD pitched more innings than the other 4 pitchers combined, and the plan seemed to be to only use 2 pitchers in games that counted. She had a 0.00 ERA, .191 BAA, 1.15 WHIP, and 11Ks in 11.1 innings.

1st game team defense collapsed vs the team that essentially won the tourney, and she came on in relief. That game was just embarrassing defensively. At one point they made 3 straight errors and then missed an easy force play on a fielders choice.

2nd game she pitched the full game and got the win giving up just 2 late bloop hits against a Great Lakes team that had the #2 ranked player from the class of 2028 on it.

3rd game she came in during the middle of the 2nd innings after it was 6-0 and shut them down until an error helped pushed in a late run.

All 3 of our region’s teams had big struggles playing defense.

These camps are not a money grab. These are collegiate athletes using their skills to make a little money promoted by their former organizations. Great exposure to the game for the next generation, small and intimate.

Looks like it was good experience and your DD was throwing it well.

Did girl from WI Lightning pitch against her in Great Lakes game? That one wasn't on GC and looked like she pitched majority of other three games.

Saw the girl from Waves was on the other team from up there. Both of them throw it well. We see them quite often.

They were Region 8 I believe. The one from Lightning had 18Ks in 10IP and only 1 ER but looked like they lost some close games.

That team won something like 110 games this year and generally she pitches at least half their games in a weekend.
