We're squarely in the zone of overthinking things.
Some "mis-hit" balls fall or squeek through for base hits, and some liners to the OF get caught. It balances out over time. If you keep missing solid contact, the outs are going to catch up to you. Similarly, if everything flies off the bat, you're going to hit it where someone isn't more often than not.
Had a young player get really frustrated a few years ago because two consecutive hard hits got caught. She said "what do I need to do differently"? My answer..."absolutely nothing"...the next swing sent a ball over the fence.
