Not here.
Only problem I would have with those drills is the real tendency if you are not careful to still initiate the swing as you go forward,
Are you worried about the hands going forward at the same time or the hands initiating/loading/getting into a position to turning the barrel at the same time.

One is not good the other is preferred in MHO.

I'm talking about hands going forward as foot is coming forward, which would be bad. Should have used the word hands going forward instead of initiate.

Again several lessons of just going over the basic sequence would do wonders here

Here's a clip from DD2. She turned 11 in May, been to the same hitting coaches, played all last year without a single bonafide base hit. Finally starting to see the ball this year. Surely there's some scholarship money somewhere for left handed Chinese pitchers! :)

If she did not get a hit all year. The very first thing I would do is get her eyes tested (you would be surprised how many times this is an issue). Second I would concentrate on hand eye coordination drills, one I like is taking really small whiffle balls the kind they use to practice golf and just stand in front of them and throw them at her overhand fairly hard, almost like throw darts after a while she should not miss hardly any. Also work on front toss and live or machine BP, my guess is she probably has other basic flaws that are not evident off a tee, one of the biggest and most common is stepping out instead of straight into the pitch.

As far as her swing I would really not go back to the hitting instructor unless of course they told her what to do and she is not listening. She is basically using an all arms swing, but even so at what I am assuming is 10 rec she should be at least making contact even if they are dribblers to third and a few of those should find the hole in between fielders.

Here is a clip a year later from DD1 shown originally in this thread. I don't know how to make the video clips show up here, but here's the link (I'm very technically challenged!) We tried a new hitting coach for 8 weeks during the winter that was highly recommended by one of the top travel organizations in the area. This coach focused on her keeping her hands inside and not casting out and using her lower body more. Would love feedback on any improvement you see from last year. One thing I notice is she steps out as she swings, doesn't do it as much when doing T work, butt does off of live pitching. Her sequencing is still off?? Thanks!
