I believe she put it as "arguing with morons."
Oh, I thought that was fun.
She did have a knack for stating things in ways that caused many of us to question what she was saying.
I believe she put it as "arguing with morons."
Really? Because that was what I told @ANNASDAD when he asked me why I took a break for a bit a while back..You sure you aren't confusing usI believe she put it as "arguing with morons."
This!Personally I don’t care. Make the rule “throw underhand, from the circle, in the lane.”
I believe that one belonged to Mr. pattar!I believe she put it as "arguing with morons."
Yeah..I obviously got over itI believe that one belonged to Mr. pattar!
I guess it could be applied to both of you, but that was what she told me back in February. Believe me. I've considered it more than once too.Really? Because that was what I told @ANNASDAD when he asked me why I took a break for a bit a while back..You sure you aren't confusing us
Difference between leaping and crow hopping.Have you ever seen her pitch without it? I think that would be the only way to tell if she gains an advantage by crow hopping.
If Rad were here, she'd tell everyone to be better hitters and not sweat the leaping.
I have seen dozens and dozens of crow hoppers, because I had a hi-def video camera and I took it with me every time I went to watch a softball game, rec, high school, travel, and all three levels of college. I would always take video and later on examine the pitchers closely in slow motion. Most of the crow hopping I did not notice live, it was only when I slowed down the video that I could see the replant. Most people don't realize how common it is, especially at the lower levels. Yes, Kelly Barnhill crow hopped and she threw 70, but she came down short of the 8ft circle. Was the crow hopping responsible for her velocity? Gabby Plain also crow hopped and she topped out at about 62. Even for the men crow hopping is not a full second push off. I believe it's illegal in men's fastpitch, but 'allowed'.I don't see much of an advantage to crow hopping unless you do it like the men do, but that requires you to adjust your timing and arm action. But I'm sure that someone could come up with a way to exploit it if it was legal. The crow hopping that takes place now is mild and it's common.
Moronic statement coming up. I think leg drive as it relates to velocity is overstated. My logic is In observations most pitchers can throw within 80-90% of velocity from a fixed position. Meaning a pitcher that throws 60 is probably 48-54 off one knee or standing.
Throw in a drill where they just drop the front leg they will be even faster.
Every 4’ closer is 10%. I think a pitcher gains 5-10% from gravity picking the knee up, 5-10% from leg drive with the effect of being closer reducing reaction time by 15%.
