Alabama high school softball "outside participation rule"

We went to the Hofstra camp last year. The team spoke to the girls. They describe their days being a student/athelte. Its a lot of work. Sometimes up to 5 hours a day on dedicated to just softball not counting your studies. You can have all the talent in the world, you still need heart, determination, work ethic and being able to set aside your ego to play in college.

You also might be asked to set aside your future earning power via the majors you will be steered towards. Not every player who quits after a year of college ball does so because of a character flaw.

isn't this the thread where the conversation morphed into the limited value of HS ball because no college coaches go to HS games?

I get the HS bashing threads mixed up sometimes.

That is correct. The C.I.F. includes Rec., Church or any organized game (means there is an umpire) in their ban.
