16U/18U Showcase/Gold Teams: How much time off?

We shut down November, December and start back the first week of January. Pitchers and catchers meet at least once a week after a 2 week break following the last fall tournament but it's not mandatory until January.

Our team doesn't shut down until February when high school ball starts.

There are teams playing year-round in SoCal, however it varies by team.

Not sure I would be a fan of playing year-round even if weather permitted. Gotta get the players, especially the pitchers and catchers, some down time.

In Texas, 16/18U travel ball shuts down from last tourney in November until early May (after HS playoffs). Some teams get together 1-2x/week to hit/pitch starting in mid January (if their HS coach allows for it). I think DD's current team shuts down until May, but coach wants daily reports of what they did that day (hit/pitch/field).
