I love the mechanics part of that form. I guess that is going to be a rather personal preference box... as the pitching and hitting forums can't agree on a specific style being good or bad, right or wrong... it kind of makes me laugh to think about a coach marking that down and letting a dad see it. I'm guessing many a father and coach might start throwing punches on the spot!

I would never let a dad see an eval form, nothing good can come from that.

When I did evals I needed a baseline to go from. Whats a 5 vs a 4 or a 3? So I would rate my dd 3 at everything, I knew her game better then anyone elses, so I could do an eyeball check. Does she throw a little better then Nat? Yep she is a 4, is she not quite as good as Nat at flyballs? Yes so she is a 2... At the end of the tryout I knew where everyone stood. It might seem subjective, but all ratings are, at least I had a good idea of what a 3 looked like and I could judge from there. On top of that any father that did catch a look at my form couoldn't say anything about my ratings being unfair because my dd was not all 4s and 5s.
