I'm curious (but have never even googled it) to learn why Georgia and a few other states switched softball to the fall. I think it takes a 75% vote from Congress, which we certainly aren't getting these days.

What I have been told (by someone who was around when it was happening so maybe true) is that slow pitch softball was (and I think in a few spots in Ga still is) a spring sport so when fastpitch was starting it was relegated to the fall, where it has stayed ever since. There are (near me in Metro Atlanta) some schools that have a single ball field that they covert to a softball field in the fall… I used to think enabling that was the reason for the different season, but was then told I had cause and effect reversed.

At least you guys don’t have slowpitch in Spring..😉

The Chicago Public League has co-ed 16-inch in the fall. It's a trash bastardization of the sport and quite possibly the worst thing my city has ever produced. Glad we aren't part of the CPL so I don't have to deal with it.
