Blaming China at this point won't help anything nor will blaming the current administration for not being adequately prepared for this when the previous administration briefed the current administration (unfortunately 2/3 of the people briefed at that time no longer work in the administration) on this exact thing during the transition period. These things will likely be hashed out after this is all over so hopefully when the next pandemic comes, and it will, we will be better prepared.

It is like when your kid K's on a pitch over her head..no point in telling her she swung at a pitch over her head..just have her be ready to go play the field and use what she learned from the K in her next AB (see how I brought this back to softball?? ;) )

Is asking China to tell the truth blaming them? IF SO then sign me up ;)

You can ask but you cannot control what they do..control what you can control... 🤷‍♂️

No kidding. But you can't control what you need to when people lie to you.
I usually don't care about politics, I generality have more important things going on. But this whole mess was fueled by lies and a nations desire to save face. That's all I'll say. History will connect the dots, sounds like it's already coming out. Appreciate the lively debate even though we fully disagree!

I could write some stuff here but it would be deleted due to the political nature of it so I won't. All I will say is that hopefully the screwups by multiple entities will be overcome eventually...

From what I understand there is a remedy. It was given to 40 patients and all 40 patients recovered within 6 days. It’s already in the pharmacy every where and known to be safe. Lets all take the meds for a week and playball.

Older population and slow response to the situation.

Countries with better results took drastic measures immediately nation wide. Something the US is not doing.
What else should we be doing? Here in KY some of us can still go to work but most public places except grocery stores and gas stations are closed. They just closed the parks yesterday. Schools closed, all school sports are cancelled, rec leagues on hold indefinitely, Drive through only for food. No public gatherings of any kind are permitted.

Better testing but that is responsibility of the government and not its citizens and unfortunately what is going to happen is that we as citizens will likely be in this situation longer than we have to, and the societal impacts larger than they had to be, because we were not prepared ahead of time.

Also, to keep this softball related: dd has practiced at home 5 days in a row and will continue to do so. We have worked in our empty front room a lot due to rain but still do short hops and general foot/glove work plus pvc drills, tee work, dry swings and some slapping drills. Got some throwing drills and long toss in yesterday before the rain hit again. I guess there is a silver lining to all this, she hasn't worked this much since she started playing.

Real time these things are happening. How can some not see this.

Just went back and read through a lot of this thread. Many different viewpoints represented.
It just proves there are people that will always see the glass as half-empty and others will see it as half-full. For those that have never been in the military or are unaware of History things like this have happened across the world throughout history.
The Civil War in our own country turned out to be one of the most costly mortality rate events in our nation.
Clearly now anger about how this started is todays emotion for some on this website.
The glass is still half empty for them.

This is not the end of our society. This is the beginning of change to learn how to live with new issues.
