Is she replanting on the side of her foot?

The during the AU AL game saturday, the announcers talked about how the pitching lane was 1 inch narrow and the grounds crew had to make it wider.

Doesn't look like she's establishing a new push-off point with her right foot.

Rear foot lands and rear knee is bent. As the ball is thrown the rear knee extends.

Isn't that a text book plant?

I guess it's possible, but from this angle it looks like she drags her toe and when her leap foot hits, her right foot is on its side/inside edge and sweeping to the left. Either way, that part is way less obvious than her landing 4-6 inches outside the lane.

The circle is irrelevant to pitching rules. It is only used for the look-back rule.

watching TX A&M vs TENN from last Sunday,
A&M staff (presumably) are quite audible off-camera,
screaming at the Ump that the pitcher (M.Moss) is illegal,
because "she's landing outside the circle"...

PS: for a non-crow-hopper, Moss sure does get out there. Impressive!
