I believe you mean well.
If folks bring up faulty information in a thread that warrants discussion, then the discussion will likely take place in that particular thread. Many discussions get personal only because the person getting personal has run out of gas in terms of supporting their mechanics .... at which point they take a tactic of attacking the messenger ... which can often imply that they know they are wrong but don't wish to concede.
