DD and I were hitting last night and I noticed her bat was angled upon contact. I am wondering what causes that and what to do to fix it? Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Not here.
A hitter needs to 'tilt' the barrel down to the ball. The amount of tilt depends on the pitched ball. You don't want a hitter dropping their hands down level with the ball or ground.

Your DD's hand move forward creating a push type swing. I also see 'knob to the ball'.
I digress....Tilting is good.

If you have a side view can you post that swing.

So Cal
There are a lot of instructors who teach "bat level to the ground at contact". However, this instruction does not reflect what actually happens in a good swing.

Side view. This is from about a month ago I believe.
Appreciate the feedback so far.

DD is dropping her hands down to the ball. A to C swing. The high finishing 'masks' the barrel path.
Gets a little 'separation' which is good. I would work on rear leg driving. Rear foot is just spinning up to toes pointing down. Look at gifs of college softball hitters rear legs.

Just like any swing, there is always room for improvement. However, for her age, I think her swing is pretty good. Always strive to be better but be careful when introducing changes. Try not to lose the positives she already has. Good luck!

My DD has been working on bat vertical and attack angle as well. The Zepp has been an invaluable tool in that regard. Her average bat speed has increased 7 mph in the last 5 weeks. Tonight she hit a PR and was pretty excited. I think every serious DFP parent/coach should have a Zepp!!

Waspeed, i have seen the Zepp advertised and wondered if it was useful. I am waiting on something that determines the amount of whip in the arm or lack thereof while pitching ;).

I am defenitley going to check it out. Appreciate the input.

Cool, I think you'd like it. It's easy to use once you dial it in. It's easily the most useful hitting aid I have.

BTW, is the pitching tool you're waiting for the accraspeed?
