My understanding of the Tincher certification, and others like it, is that is is essentially a group of teachers who all agree on certain fundamental philosophies. Think really broad terms here. Not specific movements per se'. And they don't necessarily use a corporate issued handbook to teach the philosophy. They all take different roads to get to hopefully the same place. And that means that you will find some that teach no backswing and some that do since the backswing is not really a fundamental philosophy in the Tincher realm. I have seen one Tincher instructor say to not slap the leg with the glove hand because that causes the sub-conscious effect of flinching and/or tightening up (because your brain knows that some slight pain will follow shortly thereafter) at the time of the release while another Tincher instructor could not have cared less about it.
