When DD was starting pitching, had an opposing coach tell me her motion was illegal because she was moving her body backwards (rocking) before going forward. I didn't know a thing about pitching back then so I just nodded.

Every time I hear the "present the ball to the batter" schtick, I just think of :

I think I would have replaced #7 with "obstruction is an automatic base award." (It is in baseball, but not in softball.)

A younger umpire called a strike on my DD when her hands were almost over her head, trying to avoid an inside pitch in the batter's box. When I said, "Didn't that hit her in the hands?" He said, "Yup, hands are part of the bat." I wasn't the HC, so it wasn't my place to do anything else, and the HC left it go. I haven't seen him in a couple years, I think he was the son of one of the older umpires. Poor guy got the nickname "Hands" from our team.
