14-U - What’s a good number?

We are moving up from 12-u, and last season carried 10 regulars. USFA allows you to bat all your players so we did, unless we were in a title game or close to it. When we played ASA we went to the DP/Flex, but were concerned about an injury causing lineup issues. How many players does your team carry and how is it working for you?

14u is a little more complicated in that if you have Freshman you start to run into your respective states High School rules. You may not have Freshman for April and May.

11 is the perfect number with 2 to 3 in reserve to guest.

We were a second year 14u team this year. We carried 11 on the roster and it worked out really well. We never had to use a guest/pickup player all season (mid May - August)

Absolutely no more than 12. Then you'll find yourself feeling guilty for the same kids sitting all the time
