The video you are all referencing was a very short lived night, it was right after a volleyball practice (hence the attire she was wearing) but it was one of the only times we could throw this week with my work schedule and in between her activities. We actually did go get ice cream the other night.

But thanks for the advice anyways.

I make dd freeze at the end of the pitch then we analyze if she is in a correct position or how she got in that position. It’s working backwards to find out where things went wrong. This also helps her finish each pitch because sometimes she wants to give up as soon as she releases the ball which leads to weak form just before then wonders why she can’t hit her spot. Make sure she finishes the pitch and is balanced and not falling all over the place.

For starters her move to her right is a big problem. Hip shoots out and causes a lot of issues. Can’t I/r in this position. Her arm on the down swing goes out to in also because of it.

Watch here. Her fingers never get behind the ball thru release. As she I/r’s at release the fingers should move behind the ball ay some point. Hers slips off the inside of the ball. Ie ball falls to the ground.
Just a couple observations.

I agree that these are our two biggest issues I see. I know she needs to get off the pitching rubber more. Since we started concentrating on Brush Interference her spin has gotten way more consistent. The bullet spin has all but disappeared but she does lose a some pitches way inside when she doesn't get her hand behind the ball. The hips getting away from her are a big problem as we progress into more lower body movement. Besides 'squeezing the butt cheeks' are there any other pointers to keep her hips underneath?

Just take a look at her arm.
Poker straight. Needs some flexibility here to find the whip. Has to be bent. HE is strait. IR has to be bent.
Hardest thing may be correcting that hip out to the right.
She is progressing. Keep working it.
Every drill she does have her work with the arm bent. Java has some great videos with drills to help with learning the whip with the bent arm.

I appreciate the analysis. Whats funny is she has never been taught throw with HE, everything has been IR but as she gets to more high intensity throwing the arm definitely muscles up. She had mark on her hip last night from the Brush Interference. Just need that arm to relax to get more whip.
I do see the hips moving out from underneath her still, it is way better than it has been. We have been working on the frontside resistance and the hips have been staying underneath her better.

Well her velocity has really increased the last week, but her control has gone away.

She has developed a nice bruise on her hip, is that normal or what does she need to change, she is obviously get brush interference. Is it too much?

A straight arm can bump the hip/thigh. Back off the distance and intensity and find a relaxed, loose whip. It seems counterintuitive, but with good posture and whip, her elbow will tuck in behind the hip bone and the soft part of the inner forearm will wrap below the hip bone along the soft upper thigh. When this happens, the discomfort is gone. Do not continue to throw full motion until she can throw easy underhand catch with good posture and whip.
