What part of "the body supports the goal of the hands" is translated in your mind to the body not being unified and not involved from the beginning?
I am arguing your assertion that the body whips the barrel. You reply that the hands are involved and part of it. Your buddy at BBD says the hands pulse. Lots of talk about the hands from guys that don't think the hands are in charge.
We have been through this so many times.. The change in barrel direction isn't a hands only move in hopes the body will support... The core is the driver while both legs are supporters.. Like I have shared with you in the past we spend a lot of time swinging from a stool/chair.. This helps isolate the lower half while engaging the upper to get the feel of the change in barrel direction.
The pattern you're using has no change in direction (running start) dependencies..
This is what happens when one tries to combine patterns that aren't compatible into one.

Pick a pattern and go with it but don't try mixing patterns into one.. Hitting is hard enough the way it is.. I feel for the parents here and elsewhere that are trying to match movements that aren't compatible.
