I don't think I said flat footed..
Yes, I said that "we called them" that...when seeing someone in the position(s) you described.

...played sports all my life I do understand where you are coming from. My point is balanced, equal weight distribution. You can be on your toes with equal weight distribution.. and by no means do I mean staying in that position for any real period of time.. but the things I described does involve leveraging both legs equally.. favor one leg and you need to go the other way, you are done, can't recover.
That's the good thing about hitting though...you're only going "one-way" when you're moving "FbC" (remember that one? ;):)), so as long as you're not planted on "two legs"....you can "favor" one-leg over the other a little bit in as you're getting "FYB"....IMO mind you.

Do the 3 you posted above, have any?

If I understand your question this one has the coil you're looking for where the leg is the driver..

Or another way to look at it is these guys get the shift out of the way so all thats left to do is swing leveraging all available resources.. IOW's they beat the pitcher to the hitting position they are swinging from...

So has Mike moved his weight from one place to another before swinging the bat in this clip?

View attachment 17481
He "moved" his body forward, but he did not "shift" his weight across his body (from one leg to the other)..."before swinging the bat".

Hence the term "FYB"...his body moved "Forward", "Yet" his weight stayed "Back" (didn't start to "shift" before swinging the bat).

Ian never really "shifts" his weight forward in that clip compared to what Miggy (and Lowery in the original post) does relatively speaking. So yes, Kinsler used his one leg more than he should/could have to get a potential better/different swing had he done so...IMO.

Curious. If the goal is to launch the swing from an equally balanced position why stride at all? Wouldn't it be easier to just set up in this equally balanced position from the get go and swing from there? No movement at all. Dont ever have to worry about being early or late cause you are always in the hitting position the entire time.

So then what do you call the movement of weight that we see when they're moving their weight from the back leg (or both legs if you insist) onto just the front leg, and their rear leg/foot comes up off the ground?

The swings I have seen from him he uses the rear leg as the primary driver where the shift is the swing (shifting from the rear leg to the front leg).

Could be, but that's not the swing(s) you posted from which I commented on . 🤷‍♂️

Also, has Carpenter moved/shifted his weight "forward" in this clip you posted....

....and if so, then what's still "back" in the FYB thingamajig?
