The rear elbow will work down and through, rather than down and pinned to the torso during the rest of the swing.

One of the best things you can do is look at video of top hitters, and start to identify some of the differences between what they do and what your DD is doing.

This is one of my favorite hitters to study...Miguel Cabrera – Page 6 – NOONTIME BASEBALL

Please make a GIF showing how this hitter has her rear elbow pinned to her torso.

Soonershok, take video where you are viewing your daughter's swing from the opposite batter's box. That should help with some of the recommendations you are receiving.

Hmmm ... this poor 'simple dad' may end up making his kid worse as a result of visiting here.

That's why I'm asking for simple basic things to work on. I haven't studied hitting like a lot of you have. I realize there are many different schools of thought to hitting. I honestly don't care which school of thought to use as long as I can actually see some results. I paid for lessons for about 6 months expecting to see results and didn't see any improvement at all. She is a strong kid who should have a lot of power and yet I see these little frail girls out-hit her. She is very good at judging balls/strikes and knowing what to swing at. She's also decent at making contact. There just isnt any power.

I don't have GIF capabilities.

The "upper rear arm" is probably a more accurate description than "elbow. I see it most vividly in this swing...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5YYf-GzcD8&feature=youtu.be

This is just one issue that jumped out at me when I saw the latest clips. It's interesting to me that it wasn't nearly as apparent in the first swings that were posted (slow pitch). With the arm staying tucked against her side, it limits the ability for the elbow to properly work through. Right now, she cutting off her arms...t-rex arms. That said, there are a lot of other issues to deal with, as well, to help this hitter improve her power.

5frames and Eric F,

She might just be making an adjustment to hit a pitch inside.

So she is doing what all hitters do on a inside pitch, only she is starting with the barrel behind her body, which isn't good.

Okay, I'm using Lindor because I like his swing and it has all the qualities of a HL swing.

I'll break the swing down farther to spotlight differences. I suggest you save and open the gif in quicktime to do an analysis.

That clip is a decent example of what many describe as 'bat drag'.
