My dd applied sunscreen 3 times today when playing in a softball tournament. She got a pretty good sunburn. Breaking out the water gel. When the sun comes out, my dd gets burned.
I'm usually fine with the drugstore aloe gel, but the high purity stuff from the hippie grocery store works a lot better when you really need it. Can't come up with a brand name, but it has to be kept refrigerated.
I carry a medium sized duffel which contains a rudimentary 99 piece first aid kit from Sam's Club, 3 large rolls of underlayment for athletic tape. 6 rolls of athletic tape, aloe vera gel, SPF50 (FROG) sunscreen, antiseptic ointment, 8 or so chemical ice packs, 2 glove re-lacing kits, 2 Frog Toggs, athletic tape scissors, and a large bottle of Naproxin Sodium (Aleve).
