I often wonder what people think travel ball means.

It means...
15k miles on my brand new car in 9 months.
My primary duties are: 1) Drive, 2) Write checks.
Most weekend mornings start in the dark.
Missing out on late-night movies with DW (always been our thing) because of those mornings.
Way too much fast food...and well-deserved Slurpees/McFlurries.
Having a strong opinion about folding chairs and ice chests.

No matter which path you choose, softball is a lifestyle. For me, we played primarily
locally on TB until 16U. I found that 10-14U is still a bit of a social sport. 16U is when
girls are serious about pursuing the game beyond High School. I am happy with the choices we made
and DD is now playing in college. Once TB ended we just redirected the $$ spent
to hotels and airfare for college games. Yes, it is fun-enjoy!

Don't forget the inability to cut your grass during daylight hours...

I had a weekend in October with nothing, I mean NOTHING scheduled. It was really strange. I mowed the lawn, I raked the leaves, had some time to relax.

Every other weekend was jam packed. Softball, trips for work, softball, my DS' college sports, softball, family activities, softball, oh, and also a lot of softball.

It will be a LONG time before we have another weekend like that.

DW keeps saying she wants us to have some time together, just the two of us. Uh, maybe in 2020.
