If you haven't figured it out yet I look at alot of softball youtube videos. Yes, I need a life....

Anyway, I had never seen this one before. Announcer says it is perfectly legal which she is correct almost. Small leap there but not worth discussing as the rest was just fine. Anyway, just wanted to share if you haven't seen it. Pretty cool and no I won't be trying it at home ;)

I've thought about it multiple times. My DD has been a baseball pitcher since she was 8. In her younger years she could go between side arm and overhand at will. Messed kids up big time. It doesn't take much more to go submariner. I always wondered what it would take for her to basically go submariner with fastpitch and still be legal.

Had a local kid deliver like that who DD's team played against a couple years ago (wonder if it's the same girl ?..have to do some research. *Edited to add, nope this girl Jenna Abbott is from GA). Once they saw it and focused on the ball coming off the hip it was not that big a deal anymore except she was still a pretty decent pitcher!

There is a limit to how far outside the body the arm can be at delivery. 6"? 8"? Anyway it's a rule that prevents submariners from pitching softball.

Yeah, I thought about all that. Really I was thinking about the elbow. A true submariner is almost skipping their knuckles off the ground but only inches from their leg. The big difference is the upper body leaning way over. I saw a figure 8 mens league pitcher basically doing it. From everything I could find it was women's fastpitch legal. It was purely just for curiosity though. As an '03, I think she's past any serious attempts at pitching.
