Is she trying to hit no stride? I like no strides. Or is she simple late and can't get anything going?

Where's the barrel turn?

Btw, while I think the torso should be tilted she might be a little to low. Although her posture really doesn't matter because she comes out of it during the swing. It might be because the pitch is high, although my gut feeling is she doesn't maintain her posture.

Where's the barrel turn?

This hitter has issues well before that.

You are spot on regarding the excessive anterior tilt. Excessive anterior tilt slows the body's rotation down .... hence the need for her to come out of it. She has this backwards IMO.

I would say the overwhelming majority do not specifically work on turning the barrel. However the top hitter's turn it when they swing. Also the number of instructors teaching barrel turn is increasing rapidly (See Twitter). There have been many MLB and MiLB hitter's this offseason/season who went through similar drills as shown in the "dilemma" thread.....

What dilemma thread? I searched but couldn't find it. I would like to use some of these drills for my DD.

I totally misunderstood turning the barrel concept as well. I always thought it meant the barrel angling back towards the catcher. But from what I see from the top level hitters the barrel actually drops/turns over the hitters shoulder, kind of perpendicular to the hitters back shoulder...

I'm not sure how to teach this movement, I fully understand that this is the optimal motion. But how do you make a 12 yr old understand the movement? I have trouble doing it myself, that's why I am looking for something more practical, like a good drill

This hitter is way out of sequence. Right now your DD is an all arm swinger. Don't mean to be a bad guy but, you should get outside help.

Yes all arms. The body is really messed up.
