anyone else like to comment on McCutchens swing?

Anyone confused when I said he starts with the weight behind the back foot? Because I don't mean toward the catcher. The weight is behind the back foot toward the dugout.

Like, weight on his rear heel?

Looks like the weight is stacked on that rear leg more than recommended by anyone. But he gets off that back side into the ball with the best of them. Maybe a side shot would tell a different story.

Is it good, bad or just....

I am, because I'm guessing that his weight is over his rear foot and during the coil/loading. Then will shift/fbc during the swing.

Back, as in closer to the dugout, relative to Trout, yes. But back relative to the toe/heel of the foot, I don't think so. Same distribution as Trout at set up. Difference is that the weight (i.e., center of mass) shifts and moves closer to the plate than Trout during the stride as Cutch goes from open to closed on stride, which creates earlier and more pronounced ER of rear hip prior to uncoil. That's how I see it but ymmv.

The mass moves from back to forward, gets braced at center by the front leg.
