I see the momentum based swing your talking about. I was kinda just messing around on the patio trying to feel the scap pinch and the barell turn. I'm gonna post another one hitting a pitched ball, can you slow the vid down? Don't mind the cut off tee lol

Better swing for a slow pitch. Faster pitch maybe the ball would have gotten deeper/you should have let it get deeper. By letting the ball get deeper then you may have been able to let your swing get 'tighter'/'coil deeper . Take that 'home run' swing and have the pitch ball faster and feel loading the hands slower. JMHO.
Feel this:

Way better than my old butt could or would do.

Howard doesn't 'bleed'/loose his corner. You have a corner then 'bleed'/loose the corner.

A little more separation between the hips and the upper body. Watch the timing of Howard's hips as compared to his hands, and then watch yours. You don't get quite as much separation, and therefore don't find the corner, IMO. Other than that, I think it is a pretty nice swing. Next time I have a pick up game, you can be on my team!

Swinging with chest. Pushing (albeit turning) the barrel forward. Top down.

Swinging with back. Whipping the barrel around the corner.
Look at the difference in head movement....chest push vs back pull.

Thoughts on clip 2 RHC?.......Besides that the ball is coming in at 12mph

It's a good slow pitch swing. With the ball coming that slow and down from that height, staying back and deep woosh probably are not really advantageous.

Here is what I see on your swing and why you are not quite turning the barrel, I might even say not trusting the barrel.

Look at your video and the location of the ball at point of contact.

Now look at the path of your hands. You basically direct them down, right towards that point.

Imagine instead turning the barrel into the path of the ball by "turning the triangle" or "rocking the U" or whatever to allow the barrel to rotate early and drop right into line with the pitch.

If you did this I believe you would be "turning the barrel".

FFS posted this a while back.

Question: High level or amateur?

Even without knowing who the hitter is, you will be able to classify.
Hint: Look at the sequence of red dots that correspond to the bat's tip. Each dot represents a point in time. The graphic tells where the maximal acceleration resides and gets created.

Why is this important under this topic of "turning the barrel"?

I would say what the chart shows, is that the bat continues to build speed right to contact.

But, do you have a source for this chart?
