Agree with Amy, would add, have her have change up sessions
Where she spends a LOT of time on change ups, younger p
Tend to spend to much time on FBs .Neglecting change ups
Pitch front toss, side toss , t-drills . Find out which type of ball
Hey use at her next level and buy a few. I like to take my
Little one outside with different balls and have her swing, 15 mins,
3-4 days a weak, and only if she wants to . Good luck
My DD pitched R. And coaches attempted to have her slap from left for
2 yrs . Non issue as far as being hit on R arm. Eventually she went back to R hitting, didn't like slapping Answer to 2 nd question is
Time will tell, if she develops into a very good pitcher that's what she will
become...
Understand this is happening to some degree all over the country, for various reasons. Keep quiet, dont be labeled a trouble maker, and understand school ball doesnt matter. At the end of the day, if she is as good as you say, she will play. Tell her to hit- hit- hit when given a chance, and by...
Again I beleive I was the one that started this with my original answer to the original question, just to remind everyone for a third and last time I said A GIRL hit 62 at a 12u regional tourny in Tenn. this past summer, the coach who told me thios said she was clocked independently by someone...
My DD best pitch is a screwball, she is not overpowering but for some reason it darts in on the batters hands, and at least in our area 12u and even 14u at tiomes have a hard time adjusting, perhaps because a lot of these girls stand to close to the plate.
Someone else posted a few months back...
Again everyone is an expert, what is an expert? I dislike when self proclaimed experts say someone else cant possibly do what there DD cant do. Again please see my original reply to the 1st post ( I am tired of repeating myself). I am not an expert of anything, certainly not pitching, but...
I have read some of the doubting thomas experts on this forum so I will give more info. I said a girl from upstate SC hit 62-64 mph (on a radar gun in Tenn. 3-4 months ago). This was at a ? little league/babe ruth 12u regional semi/finals. This girl is 13 now, and is a lefty, and plays for...
A girl in our area has been clocked in the low 60's, a lefty . Other elite travel ball pitchers mid to high 50's, but there are effective good pitchers throwing well around 50 top, but they have good off speed pitches.
A very respected pitching coach in Texas teaches fastball and change up until 12u. Then he will incorporate a drop and when your pitcher is consistently above 55mph he will bring in the other movement pitches.
Fact is most kids don't throw hard enough to have an effective movement pitch until...
Looking for some feedback on the Wilson A2000 gloves
Thanks to all for advice on glove break in. will continue slow and steady, and will try the hot glove/oven treatment if we get frustrated.
I bought the A2K wilson, its a 2 tone glove, 12 1/2". uses highest quality leather , well built, solid and sturdy, seams to have a deeper pocket for fastpitch, with catches in pocket it stings a little ( my experience) . But very stiff, still trying to break it in for DD with a little glove...
[ I think you are refering to my post, although she said it was her last travel ball season (not game). I did not push her nor make her practice. She wanted to play fall rec. ball, spring rec. ball, middle school ball, and travel ball. My DW and I were hesitant about letting her do so much...
FOR THE DAD WHO SAYS DD PLAYED HER LAST TRAVEL BALL GAME TOINGHT; Did you push her hard the last couple of years, how often did you make her practice? Did you miss a lot of vacation/birthdays etc. for tournaments/practice. Just trying to get a heads up.
