There are a few that speak of TTB for planing. I’m ok with that. Heck, I have used it for understanding how to slot and get on plane. It’s when guys say it’s to achieve speed and force that TTB is necessary as the action that creates that. I don’t agree. This to me is TTB, a planing agent.

the blur starts when his hands come forward. Go figure.

Bold above... Are you suggesting that the hands are moving away from the body at this point? Or moving forward in space due partially to the turning of the torso?

Keep in mind that some TTB followers will suggest instantaneous bat speed. That's not what I propose. All I propose is that the acceleration curve begins while the barrel is traveling rearward. Then acceleration continues.

I have numerous times already... But all people want to do is talk about their buddy Rich.
Funny thing is, those talking about intentionally TTB like to bring TM into the conversation ... "That Gone!!!"

FYI, This comment not directed at you..

That does happen, I agree. My comment is more directed at a few that seem to have an unhealthy obsession with the man. And whether they want to admit it or not, their constant commenting is actually driving more traffic to TM's twitter page. Personally, I think TM should send them a thank you ;)

This has been the case for all the time I've been on hitting forums, since well before he was on Twitter.

Yes, the torso pulling the hands in space. And yes to the bolded above.

Instantaneous bat speed is not really possible. The human body can't physically create 100% power in zero time. What we want is the intent to accelerate the barrel as quickly as possible, and deliver the barrel to the ball in the shortest amount of time.

Agreed. The phrase "instant bat speed" is used sometimes, but I see it as a misnomer. It does not mean top speed is immediate.

You and I have talked about these things a long time @Eric F and I respect your knowledge and position. The part that has always annoyed me about the BBD squabbles is that both sides would blatantly misrepresent the other. In my opinion, neither side would even consider what the other side wanted to say. I had hoped that everyone would have grown past that by now.

That's the primary reason why I stopped going to BBD. Same stupid stuff, again and again, with the same people and same agendas.

Agreed. It's a shame too. The 6 or 7 people that still post there are all very knowledgeable. But the bitterness outweighs their desire to have a meaningful conversation.
