They clarified they will remain a team and have promised a schedule for rest of the year and 2020.
I figure USSSA may be thinking about running their own pro-league in the South East or partnering with USA Softball to do so.
Going to be interesting.
It's going to be interesting to see if any more teams follow. This two NPF teams leaving in recent years. It smells a lot to me like NPF is about to implode.
NPF is inherently broken... If I was in charge, I would like to see more teams centrally located around select regions. From what I understand, a majority of the teams budget is spent on travel expenses and not player salary. If the teams were more regional, aka South West / Mid West / etc, teams could save money on travel and spend it on player salary. There's more than enough qualified players to make the games interesting... There are so many options, aka premiere league, champions league, etc.. A national championship of all the regions would be fun to watch too. I hope that there is a new future, the game is too good to not have a pro league that is financially sound for the players.
Oh, I think it is crazy that the biggest Travel orgs aren't represented.. How cool would it be if there were Firecrackers, Batbusters, Thunderbolts, etc...
One of the huge turn-offs for me is softball played in a baseball stadium. The visual is terrible, and makes the game look "less". I don't get the same feeling watching college softball.
