There has to be something more going on.

What is going on is that it probably wouldn't have been included in the Olympics had they not made that deal..I don't like it either but those comparisons are not apples to apples..the field dimensions are correct.

Never seen that before. Some very unimaginative and inattentive play calling there on the part of the US team. At least they figured it out at the end.

To be fair the Japanese IF defense is ridiculous...but still.

They were already half way in at the pitch. That synthetic turf field doesn't stop anything...just makes the ball bounce. US way too predictable there.

I was very impressed with their IF. Little to no hesitation in their fielding. Knew right where they were going.
