Others receiving votes:

Notre Dame (43), Georgia Tech (29), Syracuse (27), Kentucky (23), Oregon State (22), Texas Tech (12), Virginia Tech (11), DePaul (10), Northwestern (5), BYU (4), Houston (3), Tulsa (2), Mississippi State (2), Illinois State (2), South Alabama (2).

Did anyone tell the pollsters that Cal's Super-star Valerie Ariota graduated? Cal will be good, but I think they are rated too high.

This is how screwed up the pre-season poll is. Texas hasn't even sniffed the CWS for several years, and yet they're rated in the top 10.

And, of course, Notre Dame gets votes because, well, they are Notre Dame.

I love Mizzou, but I think they're going to get beaten up a bit when they start playing all those SEC teams this year. Ultimately, it should make them a better team, but I doubt they'll keep that number 8 ranking. Texas doesn't deserve the 7th slot. Nice to see La La and Hofstra! getting some love. JMHO.
