There are also things like muscle strength to consider.
Meaning, developing the new muscles that need to be used.

Example
When players start using their legs more, pending how much they are training their legs, strength can take lesser or greater time.

While players are developing muscle strength they may be sloppy due to lack of muscle strength until they build endurance. Conquering muscle strength and endurance can accomplish more repetitions correctly. Two things coming together.
New mechanics and the strength to do them.
