Has anyone used exercise bands as a prop to illustrate using rear leg to help drive/uncoil rear hip into front side against resisting upper half? Effective or not so much?

Something along the lines of this pic but done without spinning and pushing....and maybe set brace a little higher so resistance is in the shoulder plane.

I think this would reinforce push mechanics. If you are talking about rear leg driving and upper resisting, your goal is stretching in the rear hip socket. The upper pulling a tighter load, while the rear leg is internally rotating. A swing that is a continual load, with a release. I think using the band with these mechanics is like pulling a slingshot with a rock in it, then trying to get it to shoot faster by pushing the rock.

You may get a better result if the rubber band were attached in front of the batter(for you a lefty, towards the 3rd base dugout) then when your hips move out as you simulate a lower body swing move, your upper would actively need to move back in the opposite direction(resist) to keep tension on the rubberband(separation) until the hip wins the tug of war. Haven't tried this personally just commenting on an improvement over the pic you supplied.:)
