Escobedo beats Oklahoma

OK and TX were both ranked too high to start after losing so many players. It's one thing to lose to top teams like Kentucky, ASU and Washington - it's another to lose to teams like CSUF, N.Iowa, Purdue, UTSA and IPFW and struggle getting by teams like Pitt and Mich St. It will be interesting to see how much they can improve over the season.

2 and 7 UNLV just beat Texas. Oklahoma and Texas are both off to slow starts. Stanford might surprise a lot of teams this year.

DD and I watched UNLV-Texas, great back-and-forth game through seven innings!

LSU looked really, really good, shut out Long Beach 11-0. Wish we could have stuck around to watch them play Washington, but my son needed a ride to karate.

Amen. Sleepers out there. Don't discount UNLV. Or Fresno State. Both may beat Arizona (and others) in Mary Nutter Classic.

Rumor is Escobeda is back in freshman form this year.

I've seen Fresno State in person they just don't have enough pitching IMO to compete with AZ or Tennessee and have trouble hitting good pitching
