Why would you need to pick one assoc. at the exclusion of others? If Pony is stronger in your area play Pony for most of your tourneys but look to pick up ASA, NSA, USSSA and any other qualifying tourneys you want to along the way.

This is exactly what most teams in our area do.

Pony is definitely the org of choice around here. I am not sure why the club I am getting involved with wants to move to ASA as they are not dominate in Pony...

From what I have gathered much of the PONY's popularity is that your association can earn berths to PONY national tournaments by hosting so many tournaments.

And if that is what the association wants, that's a good thing.
