ASA rule about release having to be forward of midline of body?

I told a newbie that this rule didn't exist but lo and behold it does. So does this mean every pitch my DD throws is illegal because she releases off the rear hip?

I suppose it is no more illegal than leaping. :) To your point I guess the riseball is now an illegal pitch. Aren't you also supposed to have the release inside of the elbow or something like that?

I see where it says release and follow through must be forward and past the straight line of the body. I think it just means delivery cant be from behind the back? I saw nothing about mid line..
