Are there any softball skill/performance benefits to a 14u team with 24 on the roster?

Sure we can all probly see this is an overload of players...
Cuz its kinda obvious this could be two teams. But this is not a complaining post.
Rather a HUGE softball related question about HUGE rosters.

👉What are the possible reasonings to this being able to actually help a team be better?
Play better?
Perform better?
Win more?
Anything?????

1. They get a LOUDER built in cheering team/squad... extra bodies devoting their ENERGY to cheering.
2. More players to yell GOING for the defense on the field.
( hmmm probly 1,2,3, could cover that need)
3. ?

Seriously:) asking the DFP team here
Does mega roster help players perform better?

At that age players need to play.

You hear “college coaches want players to compete” but even at the older ages very few programs can really pull that off.

dd played for an org that created one big roster by in the fall and divided up into teams later in the year but I never saw any benefit and a lot of players get lost in the shuffle.

The obvious one it gives the coaches the chance to give the girls more "game" experience by allowing them to hold scrimmages every practice. If the common theory is the best experience is game experience, then this coaching staff could hold a game every practice.

Beyond that, it gives the team the flexibility to schedule every tourney available, and they could allow girls and families to choose which ones they want to attend.

If done correctly, it also could be the perfect way to build a "tryout" culture, where every girl competes for every spot every week. I don't think I'd like to see 24 girls on a bench, but it also could give a coach the chance to rotate every inning.

Not pushing for it, but those are some reasons it could work., Mostly it probably allows the organization to instal air conditioning or something.

To draw conversation from that.
Like the concept thinking in tryout at practice to earn spot weekly.

Like earn a spot.
Perhaps that could breed more competition by #'s.
Greater % to select standout players.
Perhaps in that way help the overall teams record/performance.

However individually those players could do that same thing on smaller roster.

DD disliked some players on her Team and they disliked her. Sure was the same for all the players.

Scrimmage games would be absolutely a blast.

Something about started as softball game and it turned into a rugby match.
