Just reading a book that touched on swing flexion. That being there is a slight difference in timing for the inside pitch and the outside pitch. The book was saying you should try to achieve a swing delay on every pitch, ready to swing (not late or early). So your ready to swing at launch, ready to delay or advance. A swing flexion at toe touch/heel plant.

When I see this happen, a swing delay, I call it swing flexion. A balance state around toe touch/heel plant.

Shawn, a while back we discussed such cues as "keep the hands up" (Bonds' cue) and "work the bat head down, not the hands, but the bat head".

Why do I mention that?

Because one way to describe dealing with an outside pitch is that you are "later in time" but "earlier in their swing" (i.e., think about working the bat head down). Likewise, for an inside pitch one is "earlier in time" but "later in their swing".
