I have a question about teams entry fees paid by each player. I am not saying one way or another is better but rather trying to find out what is normally expected.
Lets say the entry fee is $150 and $30 pay at the plate. I am assuming that a team figures out the cost of the entry plus the total amount of ump fees if they make it to the last game. They then divide the total number of players and set a fee per player to be paid. (I understand that some teams (top ranked A and B teams may have a set fee that is paid every game or month and I am not referring to this kind of set up.)
Let's say you play two and are out or it is a two day that is completely rained out on the second day. What is usually expected to be done with the extra money left over? For example, 12 girls each pay $35 ($420 total) and at the end of the day only $340 was spent.
Does the coach keep that to put toward equipment for the team? Does it go in his/her pocket to help cover his expenses? is it saved to be put toward the next tournament?
