So I’ve been experimenting with my kids path. She has been a N/S path player for awhile. The cue was always ‘oppo, down to level through’ ‘barrel up’ etc... I have given her a different cue of ‘Oppo, down and across the body’ like an OH path and almost instantly got a flatter path. Maybe the body organizing a different way to complete the task? Or a timing thing changed? I can’t quite figure it out.

Top - rear elbow pull back and hands before the stride. Bat and hands totally stationary at start of swing.

Bottom - rear elbow pull back and hands during the stride. Bat and hands, a body in motion tends to stay in motion. Looks much smoother (IMO) and eyes are able to stay down to the contact zone.

Question – which does she prefer?

I don't care what you guys say  Launching from where she does in the new swing just looks and feels weaker to me..

I agree with you about the launch position, but it is currently stationary and the swing bothers me. Think if she tried timing the elbow (scap) load to be the same as in the all grey, we may be able to visibly see a bunch of bat speed increase. edit But it would only be useful if she can get the dominate eye to remain at the contact zone
