Without a video everyone is just guessing...
You're exactly right. Thank you for the gif.Without a video everyone is just guessing...
OP said DD has a tendency to just open shoulders...What is causing her "to just open up"? Is it arm bar? Hand placement? I agree with your videos on how it should be done. Theres obviously a flaw. We can go back n forth with what, how, why, between us, but it isn't helping anything. I know Griffeys swing and I understand it's not an arm bar but that's the closest I'll get to an arm bar or 'slight'. So if me calling that an arm bar bothers you, lol. And before you go on a rant about "but it's not an arm bar' just know that it's ok.

This looks like arm-bar to me...As I have
said before, IMO arm-barring isn't necessarily "life-threatening" in a swing
So the easy answer is that it depends on the pitch. Are we talking in, middle, out, or all pitches? We don't know without video...OP: "My daughter has a tendency to just open up in the swing to the point that her Chest is facing the pitcher."
My translation of what was described was that the OP's DD opened up to the pitcher and not further. The concern being why was the lead shoulder action being terminated at this point. An example was given of a hitter opening up further. The question being ... how to get their DD to do the same.
Arm-Bar is when a hitter extends the lead arm fully and THEN shifts their weight.
I've never heard the weight shift component to the definition but that is fine. I would venture a guess that if a 10 YO was posted with that action, and not a guy with 630 career HR, most people
would call that arm-bar. I could also argue that in that gif Griffey has most of his weight on his rear leg when his lead arm is fully extended but I don't want to get into
the 1-legged vs 2-legged debate..doesn't really matter. Real reason I posted was that I just like to look at Griffey's swing

Bold above ... this tells me that you haven't bothered to read Donny's presentation. You can't help the lazy.
You are posting nonsense when you speak of "guessing" (which you truly are) and of what you "could argue" but don't argue.
