I'm don't promote pinching the scap.

Very often, if you teach a hitter to "make orange", then they don't need such a focus.

Make orange???

Take a pretend can of 'red' paint and paint your hitters rear rhomboid 'red'.

Take another pretend can of 'yellow' paint and paint your hitter's rear lat 'yellow'.

Ask the hitter what happens when they mix 'red' and 'yellow'. Generally they say that they get 'orange'.

Tell your hitter to 'make orange' to start their swing.

Make orange.

Do you not promote it because you don't believe it occurs in a high level swing. When the hands are going rearward/ elbow up and in what do you think is happening with the scap?

Firstly, one does not need to be a spelling bee champ to correctly spell sepuration.

Secondly, the unwritten rule precludes me from offering a point of view regarding what should and shouldn't be
corrected with you example swing, when no solicitation of advice was requested.

Thirdly, regarding the drill, not the hitter, we used to call this drill the "put out the cigarette" drill. My student, if I had one, would never do this
drill.

Lastly, if I did have a clip of my student, and it had sound, how could I get the audio track the hell out of the clip?
I don't wish to have it be known who is in the clip.

Stressed weight shift (the Elvis move which generates separation) and keeping the barrel close to the body (turns out to be diametrically opposed to turn the barrel). Also stressed the back elbow tuck. Getting the elbow moving down as the first move is an absolute for hitting inside the ball.

I should mention, for her first 3 plus years she hit as a no-strider as I felt that method promoted the "Elvis Move" which IMO is crucial.
Only I didn't refer to it as the "Elvis Move". That came later
