Sounds like they are thinking that we need to get this girl in our batting order, we will figure out where she fits on the field later.

No kidding! It indicates that the advice to learn to hit, because they'll always find a spot for a hitter, is true!

I noticed that she wants to play OF on Varsity, but is playing 3rd a lot instead. And she wants to play 3rd on JV, but is playing OF instead! Sooooo...she's getting playing time at the positions she has played on her 14U and 16U teams in HS ball, just not in the order she wanted? :-D

The highs schools our league and travel teams funnel into are 10-2, 10-4 and 10-4. We go to quite a few games and support all the girls (and they are all so nice to my DD it is hard to support any of them specifically)

Of the 27 girls that start on these teams I would say all but 3 or 4 will play softball in college and a few of the underclassman on the bench likley will as well. Really high quality softball.

DD was one of two freshman to make varsity but after 3 games had only seen a couple inings. JV was short players due to injuries so she was pulled down to play JV. A lot of time at catcher and at bats has been good for her.

Awful. 2-7, coach has no idea what he's doing. At least DD is loving her senior year experience with the girls.

The season has not even started here yet and not looking forward to it. The coach had 3 open gyms before practice could start. Last week coach had something else to do so mon and tues no practice then thurs rolls around well no practice then either. This week started spring break had practice for 3 days and next week 2 days. Started out with 19 girls trying out and 2 quit cause dd is captain and she expected too much effort from them. Then he still wants to field a jv team also. At least this is our last year.

Versatility is a great thing.

I like that, thanks quincy. She didn't play with varsity in their first game yesterday and they beat the other team 12-5. Hopefully her first JV game goes well today.

I am in central Wisconsin. While softball practice started almsot 2 weeks ago, the girls wont be seeing the field for rpactice, scrimmages or games for awhile yet. We have about 2 feet of snow on the diamond yet. Today we had a skidsteer with a snowblower on it to try and clean the snow off in hopes when things warm up, it will be clear and the frost will come out quicker. Im guessing around a month before its ready to be played on. Could be longer. Here are a couple pictures...

We scored four goals today. The field had a little slush on it, by the 3rd period. Oh, did you mean, we are suppose to play softball on our field?

Our forecast was just updated. We are under a winter storm warning in St. Louis with my area expecting 6-11 inches of snow. We may not play for a long time.

Man I guess some of us just don't understand how much y'all go through up north to get a field ready with the weather. Down south the most we have to do is fly in a helicopter to hover over the fields to dry them out.
