You WOULD think the coach would want the best players on her team. In practice, this is NOT the case. If you don't think politics and playing favorites gets involved, you know nothing about what really goes on in the world of HS sports.

There are only two logical possibilities:

Given that DD 3 is one of only two sophomores playing on an "A" team, and they let a girl on varsity who had never played in a tournament, there are two and only two logical possibilities:

1. The HC is right that DD 3 is not ready for Varsity. That would mean EVERY other coach she has ever had in her life was wrong, and her TB team made a horrible mistake taking her.

2. All the other coaches are right, and the HC is wrong.

I saw DD 3 play fall ball with Varsity last fall.

DD 3 was one of the best hitters, the second best power hitter, the best base runner, one of the best infielders, one of the best outfielders, and a great pitcher. This isn't a disgruntled parent speaking. This is based on comments from various coaches and parents, etc.

There is a 3rd possibility and in no way am I suggesting this applies to you.

There was a pitcher in DD2's league that ended up having to go and play on the other side of town from where we are, despite trying out for 3 local teams.

She had the talent to easily make everyone of those 3 teams. The issue was that her parents (more specifically her Mom) were a nightmare and were loud and obnoxious from the bleachers, as well as offered their input daily to the coach. This, despite being told repeatedly to tone it down. The girl was surprisingly pleasant considering her parents, but that was not enough for 3 organizations to take her.

I felt bad, because even to this day they had no idea that they were the cause of their daughter being blacklisted. It was unfair, but I do understand that most coaches (all volunteer) do not want to deal with this.

My DD 3 used to be on a team that left Crush for the Devils. That year at least 3 teams left Crush, which had a strong organization up to that point.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the Devils team DD 3 was on. Great group. DD 3 wanted to try a stronger team, but had very mixed feelings. She cried a lot of tears leaving the Devils.

I had heard that about Crush. Very odd that there is TB growth on the east side and further east. With the $$ and number of kids west and south, you'd think it would be bigger west than east. Is soccer overpowering SB in those areas?

Remember back in the good ol days where the best players started...period. I hate politics

Remember in the good old days when players actually went and tried to compete and win a job and if they didn't they still learned from the experience?
