    Velocity

A little over a year 12-15 months ago I whined about my daughters 48 mph velocity. We started with a new PC , Skip Ball. Last week she hit 58 mph, was consistently hitting 55-56. Never got a starting pitching job till she was 16u. Think she's finally going to make it. All my hair is gone....but...

    Shattered Zeno

Tonite my daughter shattered a Zeno right on the barrel. Never heard of one failing like that ....anyone else???

    Never give up!!

Once again let me post a update. My daughter started pitching rec league at 12. Never took a lesson till she was a old 12. Looked like she was bowling when she kicked her right leg. Wasn't very fast.....I was never the coach, so she didn't pitch but once in a while as a old 12. Once in a blue...

    A long road

I've discussed my daughters lack of velocity on here at length...but not recently. Becoming a travel pitcher can be a long road and tenacity ....can be the key. She didn't start pitching till she was 12u in rec league. We didn't have a clue about mechanics....joined a travel team as a old 12u...

    4 weeks later WOW

Total tear down of mechanics 4 weeks ago. New motion with IR....really still trying to get the motion down. When we started with skip 4 weeks ago initial mph 48, he made a few adjustments hit 50mph. Tonite preparing for her lesson tomorrow, I got the gun out....hit 53 3 different times!!! OMG...

    More progress

Well, this guy continues to amaze me! Third lesson ....all the talk about arm whip! Agreed very important....BUT look at the video posted of my daughter titled "last chance". Her LEFT arm goes UP!! It should go straight out..pointing at the plate! He had my daughter do it half speed immediately...

    Complete overhaul

Well, second lesson and he is completely overhauling her mechanics, capping it off with a conversion to IR. Really like what he's doing, but my daughter has really got to be willing to put in the time. Funny, he used some of the same training aids I already had i.e. "Power drive", harness to get...

    Finally getting somewhere

Had started a thread called "last chance", trying to get some input on why my daughters velocity was so low. She's a old 16, throwing high 40's low 50's. After much discussion no real breakthrough on the video, some suggesting a switch to IR. Well googled IR instructors in midwest, a name popped...

    Last chance

Well this is it! Going into winter, her last year of 16u and after 4 years of lessons still a 50mph pitcher. This is probably her last year of pitching. Trying Nancy evans a great d1 pitcher for a instructor..but really not telling us anything eath shattering. Personally, I think her arm is...

    Off season conditioning

I first put this disclaimer out there I do not own or represent "ignite" of nwi! The core workouts have been phenomenal. We are working out in cedar lake Indiana at ignite and we are the only one in there at 100.00 a month. These workouts don't look tremendously hard, but my daughter has been so...

    Screwball

We have had pc's teaching my daughter to step a foot or so to the left of the power line when throwing the screwball and we now have one that doesn't teach that. Personally I thought she had better movement on the pitch when she stepped to the left of the power line. I think it helped take some...

    Softball power drive

Our new PC at bedingers bullpen uses the power drive for instruction. After explaining how she uses it, I now can see the value of it. Since we already own one, this is going to work out well. Since using it does take some practice. Up to this point i wasn't sure if it was a good purchase. But...

    Moving on

Got sucked in with a local team for my daughter, we were tired of the driving...what a mistake! She's a 14u, they told me should could play on there 16u cause they didn't have a 14u team! What a joke 1 actual 16u player the rest are 14u, the coach has 2 daughters on the team and yes you guessed...

    Bedingers bullpen-Joliet il

Took my daughter for a lesson tonite at bedingers. Mary was very personable and I think she found something. My daughter has started to twist her foot on the mound in anticipation of opening her hips, which is opening everything to soon! Thus losing power.... She throws mid to high forties. She...

    Wow ir versus hello elbow??

I'm stunned 3 years of lessons and the first I've heard of IR??? Love the bat drill, it all makes sense. Kinda noticed it in the hill house videos I've seen but just shut my ears!!

    Everyone must sit

We are playing on a extremely young first year 16 u team. (2 girls actually 16u and 5 eighth graders). I got my daughter involved, they offered her a roster spot. She has bonded with the girls, then the coach drops the bomb "everyone must sit a inning" what????? We played on Asa "a" teams where...

    Hitting lessons

We entered competitive softball 2 years ago and thank goodness we were steered into hitting lessons. I have spent ALOT of money on ALOT of lessons. This years team is using a college coach (former player) for team hitting lessons and when she got to my daughter she said " you have pretty good...

    Rita Lynn gilman

I purchased the Rita Lynn gilman pitching dvd's and found them interesting and informative. She talks about reverse posture, never heard anyone talk about it. I think her drills are good and am looking for more speed out of my daughter. She is a freshmen and can only throw mid to high 40's. I...
