I've discussed my daughters lack of velocity on here at length...but not recently. Becoming a travel pitcher can be a long road and tenacity ....can be the key. She didn't start pitching till she was 12u in rec league. We didn't have a clue about mechanics....joined a travel team as a old 12u ...her first exposure to travel. Really got to pitch once in a blue moon. But, pitched on the 8th grade team. Continued with lessons ....played travel for 2 years at 14u. Pitched VERY sparingly...but pitched as a fresh and a Soph in high school. At 16u FINALLY a team was in a jam....needed a no.2! Gave her the ball and turned her loose. Learned how to spin the ball ...not much over 50 mph. 2nd year of 16u....found another desperate team! Still not very fast but with a SOLID defense she could look good. First year 18u, caught another break a GOOD team picked her up. With a great defense looked VERY good. Started winter workouts and his hitting 55 mph , consistent 54 AND its early. Cleaning up her mechanics ....which had started breaking down. You JUST never KNOW she may mess around and become a college pitcher at some level. She has a excellent stick to BOOT! Don't give up on the dream....hanging in there can yield results!!

If she really wants to play college softball and can pitch and hit there is going to be a team that wants her!
