I believe Pattar is a professor of physics or engineering.

So, I think he would agree that ball hit at angle > 45 degrees is a popup and should only be a ground rule double if it clears the fences.

However, to reward power, I think he would agree that balls over the fence at lower angles should count for additional runs. So, a homer at 30 degrees would be +1 and a homer at 15 degrees would be +2.

There is a time and place for math, possibly determining the outcome of a softball game probably isn’t one of them....

In MLB fences are maxed out a bit over 400 feet and max HR distances probably around 500 ft. Assume that max HR distance in college softball 🥎 is 300 ft and work backwards to get a reasonable distance.
