"Defense wins games"
I don't necessarily disagree, but a more accurate statement might be...
"Lack of defense loses games."
"Defense wins games"
That crap is so annoyingHeard it this weekend, hitter doesn't swing at a pitch that is eye level or higher and someone, parent or coach, yells out, "good eye".
That crap is so annoying
My favorite is when the "good eye" comes after a pitch that is so far out of the zone that the catcher can't even come close to touching it.
''Come on, girls, you've got to catch that one!"
How about after pool play on Saturday when you played 3 games in over 100 degree heat. Kids are hot, sweaty, many have blood and dirt stains, many got up at 5:30 to make the games and the coach tells them they "didn't want it today". At least on teams I've been around, 90 percent of the kids give 110 effort every play.
Ouch. I'm guilty on that one.....
Is there a better way to say " catch that dang ball?"
"Better to have died a young child than to let another ball drop in this outfield."
