What do you plan to say when the dd, who is afraid to tell her dad that she doesn't want to pitch, says to him that she did not say that? Leave it alone!
I was the AC on a 12U travel team a few years ago. My DD is a catcher and we had 2 others. One of the girls showed no interest in catching ever, I went to the dad and asked if she was still interested in catching. They took that as me trying to suggest she wasn't going to catch and left the team. Since that moment I will not approach a parent of a player that plays my DD's same position. This dad will figure it out, since pitching requires work and if you don't like it you aren't likely to work at it.
The girl is old enough to say it to her father if she really means it.
Sometimes kids say things they dont mean.
And since the pitcher is alone in a circle with the ball in her hand she gains more attention, and some kids don't want other kids to think they like the attention.
