Can some explain how pool games seeding for bracket play works. I've got an idea but I'm not sure.
Thanks, 1999coach

Each tournament will have it's own rules for how teams are seeded. Usually, teams are broken into multiple "pools". Teams in that pool play only each other on Saturday (pool play), they're awarded points for a win, loss, and tie. Teams with the most points at the end of the day seed the best. In the event of ties, there are rules for how those ties are broken. Usually the tiebreakers are runs allowed, runs scored, and finally if all else fails, a coin flip.

The benefit of seeding #1 in your pool is that you usually have a later game on Sunday, and depending on the number of teams, will get a "bye" in the first round and have one less game to win on the way to the championship game in elimination. Other benefits are often that high seeded teams will play low seeded teams first on Sunday, giving the teams that performed better on Saturday a higher likelihood to play more games on Sunday and move closer to the championship game. Bracket play always starts off with teams from one pool playing teams from another pool, this gives the teams more opponents faced.

That's it in a nutshell, any particular questions?
